Description
Summary:The GIISAG Research Group, in conjunction with the SIMODIG seedbed, carried out a linear historical investigation of the information related to the foundation and development of the city of Tunja, including texts, experts in history, accounts of the oldest inhabitants and modern techniques such as aerial, shapefiles and orthomosaics photographs that could locate and point out the place where their customs, streets and homes are based from their most primitive memories; resulting from this and as a compendium of all the information acquired, images are represented on city  maps that manage to identify how the development of the city was since its inception, not only urbanistically, but also economically, populationally, socially and culturally, since thanks to the city's infrastructure, it is possible to predict and specify what were the trends of the time, places of interest and some customs, which eventually led to the development of cities as they are known today. Similarly, a section on the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia is included, to observe its evolution over the years. For the realization of these maps, technological tools such as ArcGIS software were used, which allow the spatial location of the information to be carried out more precisely.
