description Mathematics is present in all areas and tasks of people’s daily lives, hence the importance of the teaching-learning of this science within the framework of the integral formation of individuals as persons and social beings, an area in which the formation of knowledge in this field during the basic education stage is fundamental, since it constitutes the basis that will support learning during formal education and, by extension, throughout life. This work is the result of the research experience of the authors and directors of graduate work in the aforementioned area, with the purpose of generating a permanent reflection and concern for the improvement and development of both the theoretical foundation and the educational practice, of our training as researchers and also of our professional development as teachers. The book has considered the experiences of the students of the Master’s Degree in Didactics of Mathematics, who work as teachers in Primary, Secondary and Secondary Education in Colombia, considering the theoretical and epistemological foundations and the results of the researches throughout four chapters in which the problems identified by the students in their different educational contexts are described. Within these topics, chapter 1 highlights aspects such as the development of logical-mathematical thinking for problem solving through playful-pedagogical strategies. Similarly, in chapter 2, aspects such as monopoly as a didactic strategy for strengthening numerical thinking are discussed. In the same sense, chapter 3 highlights the importance of a didactic sequence proposal to strengthen variational thinking in the study of polynomial functions. Finally, chapter 4 presents the design of lamps as a didactic resource for the development of geometric thinking in seventh grade.

Las matemáticas están presentes en todos los ámbitos y quehaceres de la cotidianidad de las personas, de allí, la importancia de la enseñanzaaprendizaje de esta ciencia en el marco de la formación integral de los individuos como personas y seres sociales, ámbito en el cual, la formación de conocimiento en este campo durante la etapa de educación básica, resulta fundamental, pues, constituye la base que ha de sustentar el aprendizaje durante la educación formal y, por extensión, a lo largo de toda la vida. Esta obra es el resultado de la experiencia investigativa de los autores y directores de trabajo de grado del área mencionada, con el fin de generar una reflexión e inquietud permanente por la mejora y desarrollo, tanto de la fundamentación teórica como de la práctica educativa, de nuestra formación como investigadores y también del desarrollo profesional como docentes. En la obra se han considerado las experiencias de los estudiantes de Maestría en Didáctica de la Matemática, que se desempeñan como docentes de Educación en Básica Primaria, Básica Secundaria y Media Académica en Colombia, para ello, se ha considerado la fundamentación teórica, epistemológica y resultados de las investigaciones a lo largo de cuatro capítulos en los que se describen las problemáticas identificadas por los estudiantes en sus diferentes contextos educativos. Dentro de estas temáticas se destacan en el capítulo uno, aspectos como el desarrollo del pensamiento lógico-matemático para la resolución de problemas mediante estrategias lúdico-pedagógicas. De igual manera, en el capítulo dos, se tratan aspectos como el monopolio como estrategia didáctica para el fortalecimiento del pensamiento numérico. En este mismo sentido en el capítulo tres, se destaca la importancia de una propuesta de secuencia didáctica para fortalecer el pensamiento variacional en el estudio de funciones polinómicas. Por último, en el capítulo 4, se presenta el diseño de lámparas como recurso didáctico para el desarrollo del pensamiento geométrico en el grado séptimo.
