description This investigation is a phenomenological study, which aims to understand the conceptions that the teacher has about educational research. They were used as techniques for data collection, open interview and videos. The contexts of study were three congresses: one international, one national and one state. The central categories that arose once the information was analyzed are: Culture of research, professional education in research, educational research as an improvement in the resolution of problems, beliefs and conceptions of research from different contexts. It is concluded that the main interest was determined by the meaning that the research teachers attributed to their experiences, given the specific contexts where they work. In addition, they believe that research is necessary in and from reality in the classrooms that meet the needs of the educational actors affected by institutional practices.

La presente investigación es un estudio fenomenológico, que pretende comprender las concepciones que tiene el profesor sobre la investigación educativa. Se utilizaron como técnicas para la recolección de datos, la entrevista abierta y videos. Los contextos de estudio fueron tres congresos, uno de corte internacional, otro nacional y un estatal. Las categorías centrales que surgieron una vez que se analizó la información, son: Cultura de la investigación, el profesional de la educación en la investigación, la investigación educativa como mejora en la resolución de problemas, creencias y concepciones de la investigación desde diferentes contextos. Se concluye que el principal interés estuvo determinado por el significado que los profesores investigadores atribuyeron a sus experiencias, dados los contextos específicos donde se desempeñan. Además, consideran necesaria la investigación en y desde la realidad en las aulas, que atienda las necesidades de los actores educativos que se ven afectados por las prácticas institucionales.
