description Since 1980, with the phenomenon of globalization and the strengthening of neoliberal ideals, education began to be influenced by a process of commercialization of its actions, methods and functions. Its main objective was no longer the transformation of society and the fair and integral formation of individuals, but to meet the economic and competitive demands of the market. This case study used different data collection instruments, such as surveys and semi-structured interviews. The research is of a mixed nature and investigates the competitiveness of seventh grade students of an educational institution in Zipaquirá, Colombia. The results obtained showed a strong presence of competitive behaviors among students. In addition, the results explain that competitiveness in the group is due to factors such as individualism, encouraged by neoliberalism, parental pressure for high academic results, work aspirations and bullying.

Desde 1980, con el fenómeno de la globalización y el fortalecimiento de los ideales neoliberales, la educación empezó a ser influenciada por un proceso de mercantilización de sus acciones, métodos y funciones. Su principal objetivo ya no era la transformación de la sociedad y la formación justa e integral de los individuos, sino atender las demandas económicas y competitivas del mercado. Este estudio de caso usó diferentes instrumentos de recolección de datos, como encuestas y entrevistas semiestructuradas. La investigación es de carácter mixto e indaga por la competitividad de los estudiantes de grado séptimo de una institución educativa de Zipaquirá, Colombia. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron una fuerte presencia de comportamientos competitivos entre los estudiantes. Además, los resultados explican que la competitividad en el grupo se da por factores como el individualismo, incentivado por el neoliberalismo, la presión de los papás por altos resultados académicos, las aspiraciones laborales y el bullying.   Depuis les années 80, avec le phénomène de la mondialisation et le renforcement des idéaux néolibéraux, l’éducation a commencé à être influencée par un processus de marchandisation de ses actions, méthodes et fonctions, cessant d’avoir pour objectif principal la transformation de la société. et la formation juste et intégrale des individus, pour commencer à répondre aux demandes économiques et concurrentielles du marché. Dans ce contexte, générant de la compétitivité parmi les étudiants, cette étude de cas, avec l'utilisation de différents instruments de collecte de données, tels que des enquêtes et des entretiens semi-structurés, visait à mener une recherche sur la relation entre la compétitivité des étudiants de septième année. un établissement d'enseignement à Zipaquirá, en Colombie. Les résultats obtenus ont mis en évidence une forte présence de comportements compétitifs parmi les étudiants. En outre, la recherche a pu présenter une description de ce phénomène, expliquant pourquoi et comment la compétitivité se produit dans le groupe.   A partir de 1980, com o fenômeno da globalização e o fortalecimento dos ideais neoliberais, a educação começou a ser influenciada por um processo de mercantilização de suas ações, métodos e funções. Este estudo de caso utilizou diferentes instrumentos de coleta de dados, tais como pesquisas e entrevistas semi-estruturadas. A pesquisa é de natureza mista e investiga a competitividade dos alunos da sétima série em uma instituição de ensino em Zipaquirá, Colômbia. Os resultados obtidos mostraram uma forte presença de comportamento competitivo entre os estudantes. Além disso, os resultados explicam que a competitividade no grupo se deve a fatores como o individualismo, encorajado pelo neoliberalismo, a pressão dos pais por altos resultados acadêmicos, as aspirações de trabalho e o bullying.
