It is noted that students have needed to enter the digital world autodidactically and that academia has not proposed theoretical-methodological changes for its teaching and practice. Some of the obstacles that young people must face are the management of enormous quantities of data, with the capacity to analyze and store it; new sources, writings, and expressions; the hyper-textuality and the depth of the research; creativity and resources for dissemination; crowdsourcing and the manipulation of information, and the work field, epistemological changes, and the theoretical-methodological debate. |

Se señalan en este trabajo algunos de los retos que la era digital ha impuesto al quehacer historiográfico, y los desafíos a los que se enfrentan los estudiantes y futuros historiadores, considerados «nativos digitales», para poder desarrollarse profesionalmente. Se hizo una revisión de fuentes relacionadas con el tema en las que se descubren cuáles son los problemas que enfrenta la educación y ejercicio de la historia en la era digital. Se señala que los estudiantes han debido incursionar de manera autodidacta al mundo digital, y que la academia no ha propuesto cambios teórico metodológicos para su enseñanza y práctica. Algunos de los desafíos que deberán enfrentar los jóvenes son el manejo de una cantidad enorme de datos, la capacidad de análisis y de almacenamiento; las nuevas fuentes, escrituras y expresiones; la hipertextualidad y la profundidad en la investigación; la creatividad y los recursos para la divulgación; el crowdsourcing y la manipulación de la información; el campo laboral, los cambios epistemológicos y el debate teórico-metodológico. Cet article revient sur quelques défis que l’ère digitale impose au métier historiographique et aux étudiants et futurs historiens, considérés comme «natifs digitaux», vis-à-vis de leur développement professionnel. On propose une analyse des sources liées à ce sujet afin d’y découvrir les principaux problèmes auxquels fait face l’éducation et l’exercice de l’histoire académique à l’ère digitale. On constate que les étudiants doivent s’intégrer de manière autodidacte au monde digital, et que l’académie n’a pas proposé des vrais changements théoriques ni méthodologiques pour l’enseignement et la pratique de l’histoire. Parmi les défis que les étudiants rencontrent il faut signaler la gestion d’une quantité conséquente de données, la capacité d’analyse et de stockage, les nouvelles sources et styles d’écriture et langages, l’hyper-textualité et la profondeur propre à la recherche historiographique, le crowdsourcing et la maniement de l’information, les nouveaux champs d’action, les changements épistémologiques et le débat théorique-méthodologique.
