Si bien pandemias del pasado como la viruela, la peste negra o la gripe española generaron un mayor número de muertos, un elemento en el siglo XXI hace que juegue un papel esencial en la contención viral: la información. De acuerdo con esta afirmación, el permanente monitoreo de la Universidad John Hopkins, las noticias inmediatas sobre el número de muertos, contagiados y recuperados, casi en tiempo real, demuestra que hoy en día el ataque puede ser controlado. Al respecto se puede ver que: China abrió Wuhan, donde nació el coronavirus. Tuvo tres meses de medidas draconianas. Y hoy cero muertos. Claro que los sub-registros son preocupantes, así como los casos asintomáticos.
