description This investigation sought to determine the effect of four drip irrigation sheets on the incidence of Prodiplosis Longifila in the tomato crop. It was carried out during the dry season from May to September 2018 in La Venturita del Cantón Bolívar, Province of Manabí. Irrigation sheets were studied with variations of evapotranspiration percentage. Treatment 1: drip irrigation sheet at 80% ETc; Treatment 2: drip irrigation sheet at 100% ETc; Treatment 3: drip irrigation sheet at 120% ETc and 78% (Control). A completely randomized design (CRD) was used, with four treatments and six repetitions. The climatic data of evaporation and precipitation were taken daily from the Agrometeorological Station of ESPAM and the electrical conductivity of the soil and water carried out in the INIAP "Pichilingue".  With this information the irrigation calculation for the different sheets and phenological stages was made. The results allow determining that with the application of the 100% ETc irrigation sheet, the lowest infestation of P. longifila was recorded accompanied by a rational program of pesticides, with 11 applications of different kind of substances, compared to 30 to 35 applications commonly carried out by farmers.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el efecto de cuatro láminas de riego por goteo sobre la incidencia de Prodiplosis longifila en el cultivo del tomate. El estudio se llevó a cabo durante la época seca, de mayo a septiembre de 2018, en La Venturita del Cantón Bolívar, provincia de Manabí. Se analizaron láminas de riego con variaciones de porcentaje de evapotranspiración. Tratamiento 1: lámina de riego por goteo al 80 % de ETc; tratamiento 2: lámina de riego por goteo al 100 % de ETc; tratamiento 3: lámina de riego por goteo al 120 % de ETc y 78 % (Testigo). Se utilizó un diseño completamente al azar (DCA), con cuatro tratamientos y seis repeticiones. Los datos climáticos de evaporación y precipitación fueron tomados diariamente de la Estación Agrometereológica de la ESPAM, y la conductividad eléctrica del suelo y agua fue medida en el INIAP “Pichilingue”. Con esta información se hizo el cálculo del riego para las diferentes láminas y etapas fenológicas. Los resultados permiten determinar que con la aplicación de la lámina de riego al 100 % de ETc se registró la menor infestación de P. longifila acompañada por un programa racional de plaguicidas, con 11 aplicaciones de sustancias de diversa naturaleza, frente a 30 a 35 aplicaciones que comúnmente realizan los agricultores.
