Summary:In this study, the influence of the level of adherence to traditional roles of masculinity on the consumption of psychoactive substances (PAS) was determined in 600 male participants between the ages of 18 and 65 years, residents of the city of Tunja Boyacá. For this purpose, questionnaires were applied to evaluate adherence and alcohol and cigarette consumption; it was found that the substance with the highest consumption is alcohol followed by cigarettes, where the participants obtained a low consumption of these substances. The results showed that there is a statistically significant bilateral positive correlation at the .003 level between adherence to traditional masculinity roles and alcohol consumption.
