| description | The objective of this article is to present a characterization of the current situation of the history of gender, (mainly considering European and North American productions) in which the most relevant lines of research developed in the last 15 years are collected, as well as to briefly point out some of the main controversies that have recently arisen. Its theoretical dynamism (always in connection with feminist theories) has been translated into growth and expansion based on the confluence with fields of investigation such as the history of masculinities, of sexuality/ies, or of postcolonial history. In this way, we can see a broadening of the field of study which, together with the impact of the cultural processes linked to globalization, results in a production that is not only wide and complex but also heterogeneous in the theoretical plane. These dynamics of amplification and internationalization have in turn contributed to the questioning of gender as a category of analysis, as it had been conceptualized and fixed in occidental academic historiography. |

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar una caracterización de la situación actual de la historia de género (atendiendo principalmente a la producción europea y norteamericana) en la que se recogen las líneas de investigación más relevantes desarrolladas en los últimos quince años, así como señalar someramente algunas de las principales controversias que se han suscitado recientemente. Su dinamismo teórico (siempre en conexión con las teorizaciones feministas) se ha traducido en un crecimiento y expansión sustentados sobre la confluencia con ámbitos de investigación como la historia de las masculinidades, de la-s sexualidad-es, o la historia poscolonial. De manera que asistimos a una ampliación del campo de estudio que, unido al impacto de los procesos culturales ligados a la globalización, está resultando en una producción no solo inabarcable sino también muy heterogénea en el plano teórico. Estas dinámicas de ampliación e internacionalización han contribuido a su vez al cuestionamiento del género como categoría de análisis, tal y como había quedado conceptualizado y fijado en la historiografía académica occidental. Le but de cet article consiste à présenter l’état actuel de l’histoire du genre (notamment en Europe et en Amérique du nord) qui rendent compte des sujets de recherche les plus importantes dans les derniers 15 années, ainsi que revenir sur les principaux débats qui ont eu lieu récemment. Son dynamisme théorique (toujours lié au théories féministes) ont provoqué l’émergence de champs de recherche tels que l’histoire des masculinités, des sexualités ou l’histoire postcolonial. On assiste donc à une élargissement du champ d’étude qui, outre l’impact des processus culturels liés à la globalisation, donne lieu à une vaste et hétérogène production théorique. Ces dynamiques d’élargissement et d’internationalisation ont contribué à leur tour à se questionner sur le genre en tant que catégorie d’analyse tel qu’il a été pensé dans l’historiographie académique occidentale.
