description Objective: The purpose of this paper is to describe the use of Information and communications technology as a pedagogical asset in times of crisis. Originality: it deals with the use of ICT during COVID-19 pandemic, which conditions certain uses and where pedagogy is understood as an interactive teaching process in higher education. Method: this is a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive research. Strategies / information gathering: the strategies are divided into three phases: 1) research design, 2) data collection, and 3) analysis and development.  Descriptive statistics were applied to the data obtained from an online questionnaire answered by 226 participants from the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander. Conclusions: this research shows the importance of the pedagogical component in the use of ICT as a key factor for the introduction of remote teaching and the advancement of technology-mediated learning processes.

Originalidad consiste en abordar el uso de las TIC en tiempo de pandemia del Covid-19, que condicionan ciertos tipos de usos, donde se entiende la pedagogía como un proceso interactivo en la enseñanza de la educación superior. Método: corresponde a una investigación de corte cuantitativa, no experimental, transversal y descriptiva. Estrategias/ recolección de información: las estrategias en tres fases: 1) diseño de la investigación, 2) recolección de información, y 3) análisis y desarrollo, donde se aplicó estadística descriptiva a la de recolección de datos obtenidos de un cuestionario autoadministrado de manera online a 226 sujetos de la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander. Conclusiones: la investigación demuestra que el valor pedagógico en el uso de las TIC es un factor clave para la introducción de la enseñanza remota y un avance en los procesos de aprendizaje mediados por las TIC. Objetivo: o presente trabalho visa descrever o uso das Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação como valor pedagógico em tempos de crise. Originalidade/contribuição: consiste em abordar o uso das TIC em tempos de pandemia de Covid-19, que condicionam certos tipos de usos, onde a pedagogia é entendida como um processo interativo no ensino do ensino superior. Método: corresponde a uma investigação quantitativa, não experimental, transversal e descritiva. Estratégias/coleta de dados: as estratégias em três fases: 1) desenho da pesquisa, 2) coleta de informações e 3) análise e desenvolvimento, onde a estatística descritiva foi aplicada à coleta de dados obtida a partir de um questionário autoaplicável de forma online para 226 disciplinas da Universidade Francisco de Paula Santander. Conclusões: a pesquisa mostra que o valor pedagógico no uso das TIC é um fator chave para a introdução do ensino a distância e um avanço nos processos de aprendizagem mediados pelas TIC.
