Summary: | Objective: To analyze through a Weaknesses, Opportunities, Strengths and Threats (SWOT) matrix the collective interventions of a community project carried out by Family Medicine Residents in a neighborhood of the city of Tunja.
Methodology: Qualitative research, analysis of field records made by residents during the development of a community project, through the construction of a SWOT matrix.
Results: The field records of the residents allowed the construction of a SWOT matrix and the internal and external analysis of the interventions made to collectives; it was also possible to identify actions that can be empowering and others perceived as barriers that impact the evaluated interventions.
Limitations: There are no records of the initial project phase.
Conclusions: Submitting the community health promotion and maintenance project to the analysis through a SWOT matrix allows an objective evaluation of the factors that favor and/or hinder community work; this project is a successful strategy for the acquisition and consolidation of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are fundamental in the training of the Family Medicine professional. Finally, the realization of a SWOT matrix facilitates the comparison between community projects carried out in other territories and under other contexts.
