| description | Abstract: The aim of this article is to apply a triadic analytical scheme to the study of the governance of the international system, as an alternative to unidimensional and dichotomous approaches. The latter give rise to reductionist assessments, as they do not reveal the dynamism and complexity of the global social reality. The methodological approach is of a qualitative nature, used to analyse the international system and establish the diagnosis of the play of forces to which it owes its impetus, as a resource to validate the hypothesis of potential change in global economic governance. On the basis of the diagnosis or interpretation, we proceed to the heuristic exercise of seeking alternatives to the current governance of the international system. The main findings are: i) the predominance of economic and financial power over political and cultural power in contemporary globalisation, which imbues the international system with entropic governance; ii) the possibility of establishing corrections to the entropic course through the empowerment of multilateral governance; iii) the need to reform and strengthen the United Nations as the governing entity of multilateral political governance. These normative orientations serve as criteria for the design of foreign policy. |

El objetivo de este artículo es aplicar un esquema analítico triádico al estudio de la gobernanza del sistema internacional, como alternativa a los enfoques unidimensionales y dicotómicos. Estos últimos dan lugar a valoraciones reduccionistas, en cuanto no revelan el dinamismo y complejidad de la realidad social global. La apuesta metodológica es de índole cualitativa, aprovechada para analizar el sistema internacional y establecer el diagnóstico del juego de fuerzas a las que debe su impulso, como recurso que ha de validar la hipótesis del cambio potencial de la gobernanza global económica. Sobre la base del diagnóstico o intepretación, se procede al ejercicio heurístico de buscar alternativas a la gobernanza actual del sistema internacional. Los principales hallazgos son: i) el predominio del poder económico y financiero sobre el poder político y cultural en la globalización contemporánea, que le imprime una gobernanza entrópica al sistema internacional; ii) la posibilidad de establecer correcciones al curso entrópico por medio del empoderamiento de la gobernanza multilateral; iii) la necesidad de reformar y robustecer la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, como entidad rectora de la gobernanza política multilateral. Estas orientaciones normativas sirven de criterio para el diseño de la política exterior.
