description This article presents the analysis of the study entitled: Pedagogical intervention for the promotion of critical reading. The objective was to design a pedagogical proposal based on didactic units which would allow critical reading in ninth grade students to be strengthened. The methodology was oriented towards a qualitative approach of an action type research in the classroom. Four phases were developed: characterization, design, implementation, and evaluation. The theoretical and conceptual references utilized the perspectives of critical reading and argumentation. The results showed that the use of didactic units favors reading comprehension skills, analysis, and global textual interpretation. It is concluded that students improved and strengthened the processes around critical reading through the recognition of argumentative dynamics from Toulmin’s argumentative model.

Este artículo presenta los análisis de la investigación titulada Intervención pedagógica para el fomento de la lectura crítica. Se tuvo como objetivo diseñar una propuesta pedagógica basada en unidades didácticas, que permitieran fortalecer la lectura crítica en estudiantes de grado noveno. La metodología se orientó hacia un enfoque cualitativo, de tipo investigación acción en el aula. Se desarrollaron cuatro fases: caracterización, diseño, implementación y evaluación. Los referentes teóricos y conceptuales se asumieron desde las perspectivas de la lectura crítica a la argumentación. Los resultados mostraron que el uso de unidades didácticas favorece las habilidades de comprensión lectora, el análisis y la interpretación textual global. Se concluye que los estudiantes mejoran y fortalecen los procesos en torno a la lectura crítica, a través de los reconocimientos de las dinámicas argumentativas del modelo argumentativo de Toulmin. O objetivo foi desenhar uma proposta pedagógica baseada em unidades didáticas, para fortalecer a leitura crítica em alunos da nona série. A metodologia orientou-se para uma abordagem qualitativa, do tipo investigação-ação em sala de aula. Foram desenvolvidas quatro fases: caracterização, desenho, implementação e avaliação. Os referentes teóricos e conceituais foram assumidos desde as perspectivas da leitura crítica até a argumentação. Os resultados mostraram que a utilização de unidades didáticas favorece as habilidades de compreensão leitora, a análise e interpretação textual global. Conclui-se que os alunos aprimoram e fortalecem os processos em torno da leitura crítica, através do reconhecimento da dinâmica argumentativa do modelo argumentativo de Toulmin.
