总结:According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, in Colombia there are several species of the Orchidaceae family that are in danger of extinction. The article presents the results of the characterization and identification of the species of this family in the green areas of the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Tunja. The study used a mixed approach. Altitudinal transects of an average of 2,700 m.a.s.l. were carried out. For the collection of samples, the university campus was divided into three zones according to their vegetation cover. The results show a record of 20 species belonging to 13 genera, of which Epidendrum recorded 5 species and Cyclopogon, Cyrtochilum revolutum and malaxis presented 2 species, the other genera, one species. The diversity housed in the living collection of the botanical garden is an opportunity to contribute to the conservation, protection and preservation of orchids through an educational research scenario.
