description	According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, in Colombia there are several species of the Orchidaceae family that are in danger of extinction. The article presents the results of the characterization and identification of the species of this family in the green areas of the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Tunja. The study used a mixed approach. Altitudinal transects of an average of 2,700 m.a.s.l. were carried out. For the collection of samples, the university campus was divided into three zones according to their vegetation cover. The results show a record of 20 species belonging to 13 genera, of which Epidendrum recorded 5 species and Cyclopogon, Cyrtochilum revolutum and malaxis presented 2 species, the other genera, one species. The diversity housed in the living collection of the botanical garden is an opportunity to contribute to the conservation, protection and preservation of orchids through an educational research scenario.

Según la Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, en Colombia hay varias especies de la familia Orchidaceae que se encuentran en vía de extinción. El artículo presenta los resultados de la caracterización e identificación de las especies de esta familia de las zonas verdes de la Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Tunja. El estudio usó un enfoque mixto. Se realizaron transeptos altitudinales de un promedio de 2.700 m.s.n.m. Para la recolección de las muestras, el campus universitario se dividió en tres zonas según su cobertura vegetal. Los resultados muestran un registro de 20 especies pertenecientes a 13 géneros, de los cuales Epidendrum registró 5 especies y Cyclopogon, Cyrtochilum revolutum y malaxis presentaron 2 especies, los demás géneros, una especie. La diversidad alojada en la colección viva del jardín botánico es una oportunidad para contribuir a la conservación, protección y preservación de orquídeas a través de un escenario educativo de investigación. Segundo a União Internacional para a Conservação da Natureza, na Colômbia há várias espécies da família Orchidaceae que estão à beira da extinção. O artigo apresenta os resultados da caracterização e identificação das espécies desta família nas zonas verdes da Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Tunja. O estudo utilizou uma abordagem mista. As passagens altitudinais foram realizadas a uma altitude média de 2.700 m acima do nível do mar. Para a recolha de amostras, o campus universitário foi dividido em três zonas de acordo com a cobertura vegetal. Os resultados mostram um registo de 20 espécies pertencentes a 13 géneros, dos quais Epidendrum registou 5 espécies e Cyclopogon, Cyrtochilum revolutum e malaxis apresentou 2 espécies, os outros géneros, uma espécie. A diversidade alojada na colecção viva do jardim botânico é uma oportunidade de contribuir para a conservação, protecção e preservação das orquídeas através de um cenário de investigação educacional.
