description | The loads imposed by the traffic on the elastic flexible pavement structures generate the so-called deflection basins, which affect the structural and functional operation of a flexible pavement structure and, therefore, its useful life. The purpose of this work is to show the effect of the maximum load of the tractor-type truck-trailer C3S3- on the deflection of a flexible pavement structure and to model its corresponding deflection bowl in a three-dimensional system. The deflection analysis is made taking into account a flexible reference pavement structure, consisting of an asphalt tread layer, a granular base layer and a granular sub-base layer, supporting the entire structural package on the subgrade. The SHELL BISAR 3.0 program was used to model the deflection basins, which allows calculating the stresses, deformations and deflections at any point in the structure of the flexible pavement structural model. Finally, some recommendations are presented that must be taken into account in the structural and functional design of a pavement structure.This article is part of the research on the behavior of deflection based on the design parameters of a pavement structure, which the author has been advancing at the School of Transport and Roads, Faculty of Engineering of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia , in the Research and Development Group on Road Infrastructure -GRINFRAVIAL-. |

Las cargas impuestas por el tránsito sobre las estructuras elásticas de pavimento flexible generan los denominados cuencos de deflexión, que inciden en el funcionamiento estructural y funcional de una estructura de pavimento flexible y , por lo tanto, en su vida útil. El objeto del presente trabajo es mostrar el efecto de la carga máxima del camión tipo tractor -remolque C3S3- en la deflexión de una estructura de pavimento flexible y modelar su correspondiente cuenco de deflexión en un sistema de tres dimensiones. El análisis de la deflexión se hace teniendo en cuenta una estructura de pavimento flexible de referencia, constituida por una capa de rodadura asfáltica, una capa de base granular y una capa de subbase granular, apoyado todo el paquete estructural sobre la subrasante. Para la modelación de los cuencos de deflexión se utilizó el programa BISAR 3.0 de la SHELL, que permite calcular los esfuerzos, deformaciones y deflexiones en cualquier punto de la estructura del modelo estructural de pavimento flexible. Finalmente, se presentan algunas recomendaciones que deben tenerse en cuenta en el diseño estructural y funcional de una estructura de pavimento.Este artículo hace parte de la investigación sobre el comportamiento de la deflexión en función de los parámetros de diseño de una estructura de pavimento, que viene adelantando el autor en la Escuela de Transporte y Vías, Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, en el Grupo de Investigación y Desarrollo en Infraestructura Vial -GRINFRAVIAL-.
