| description | This article reconstructs the confiscation process of the communal property of the indigenous Nahua people from the south of Jalisco between 1824 and 1856. The objective is to reveal how the Nahuas made use of property by holding individual land titles. Based on the revision of the documental corpus of the lands of the south of Jalisco, it is identified how, during the first liberal period, the confiscation process wasdeveloped step by step in each of the communal spaces held by the Nahuas, from the fundo legal lands and the partitioned land to the confraternity lands. This process was developed in parallel with the consolidation of the municipalities, which were the principal promoters of private property. The deedsto the lands in the name of private subjects allowed them to become transferable goods, which in this way consolidated the hacienda scheme in the region of study. |

Este artículo reconstruye el proceso de desamortización de los bienes comunales de los indígenas nahuas del sur de Jalisco entre 1824 y 1856. El objetivo es develar cómo los nahuas dispusieron de la propiedad al contar con títulos individuales de tierra. A partir de la revisión del corpus documental de tierras del sur de Jalisco se identifica cómo la desamortización se desarrolló de manera escalonada en cada uno de los espacios comunales que tenían los nahuas, desde los bienes del fundo legal y las tierras de repartimiento hasta las tierras de cofradías durante el primer liberalismo. Dicho proceso se desarrolló de manera paralela a la consolidación de los ayuntamientos, principales promotores de la propiedad privada. La titulación de las tierras en nombre de sujetos particulares permitió que ésta se convirtiera en un bien transferible, consolidándose de esta forma el esquema hacendatario en la región de estudio. Cet article reconstitue le processus de confiscation de la propriété communale du peuple indigène Nahua du sud de Jalisco entre 1824 et 1856. L'objectif est de révéler comment les Nahuas disposaient de la propriété en détenant des titres fonciers individuels. À partir de l'examen du corpus documentairedes terres dans le sud de Jalisco, il est identifié comment la confiscation s'est développée de manière échelonnée dans chacun des espaces communaux que possédaient les Nahuas, à partir des actifs du domaine légal et des terres de distribution aux terres des confréries lors du premier libéralisme. Ce processus s'est développé parallèlement au regroupement des mairies, principalles promoteures de la propriété privée. La titularisation de la terre au nom de sujets privés lui a permis de devenir un bien cessible, consolidant ainsi le schéma d'hacienda dans la région analysée.
