The results show a greater commitment to recycling behaviors and activities for the environment; additionally, there is a lack of knowledge on the part of students regarding government policies and business practices that seek to encourage responsible consumption. |

En la actualidad, el concepto de consumo responsable ha venido tomando fuerza bajo la premisa de que las personas deben cambiar sus hábitos, escogiendo opciones que contribuyan con el cuidado del medio ambiente y del entorno social. El propósito de este artículo es analizar las percepciones y conductas de los estudiantes de pregrado de tres universidades públicas en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia, alrededor de cuatro categorías que definen el consumo responsable. Se utilizó como herramienta una encuesta tipo Likert, de 33 preguntas, en una muestra de 458 participantes de la Universidad Nacional, la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada y la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Los resultados muestran un mayor compromiso en las conductas de reciclaje y en las actividades en pro del medio ambiente; adicionalmente, existe un desconocimiento por parte de los estudiantes alrededor de las políticas gubernamentales y las prácticas empresariales que pretenden incentivar el consumo responsable.
