Este artículo presenta una interpretación de los conceptos de identidad cultural y educación a partir de textos de Paulo Freire, aquí se rescatan relaciones educativas engendradas en la escuela entre «el educador» y «el educando», vínculo que en muchos casos está signado por el desconocimiento y la negación de culturas juveniles. El documento se inscribe en el marco de referencia construido a través de la investigación, «Sentido y significaciones de la interculturalidad», la cual se fundamenta en la visión de que la educación debe responder a nuevas formas de conocer, sentir y construir las identidades individuales y sociales.
