Summary:The present article intends to make a contribution to the fragile debate on student movements in Latin America. The trajectory of the Brazilian student movement, its advances and backward movements are inserted in diverse historical contexts of its fights. Understanding the student movement history in Brazil based on the comprehension of the meaning of the passed fights, and the present challenges becomes the main purpose of this essay.
