The aim of this work is to analyze the subjective aspect of the vulnerability to risks, that is, on an individual level, and understand how the individual participates in the vulnerability. The theoretical references are the complex systems and the integral approach. However, this work presents only the subjective subsystem due to space constraints. Regarding the methodology, a survey was administered to the inhabitants of an area with a high-risk level of flooding and erosion, and in-depth interviews were carried out with risk managers. The dimension of the individual or actor of vulnerability to risks originating in the biophysical medium is integrated by the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components of the social actors. These components integrate the risk signification, and the research results show that it affects the vulnerability and simultaneously participates in the construction of the risk signification in a reciprocal configuration cycle. |

La vulnerabilidad a riesgos originados en el medio biofísico no es exclusivamente natural y su análisis no involucra únicamente a científicos naturales. En su origen e impacto, confluyen dimensiones económicas y sociales, donde es relevante la consideración del papel de los habitantes de las áreas bajo riesgo y de los actores sociales involucrados en la gestión de prevención de riesgos y atención de la vulnerabilidad a estos. El objetivo de este trabajo} es analizar el elemento subjetivo de la vulnerabilidad a riesgos, esto es, a nivel del individuo, y entender cómo este participa en la vulnerabilidad. Se toman como referentes teóricos los sistemas complejos y el enfoque integral, pero, por cuestiones de espacio, en este trabajo se presenta únicamente el subsistema subjetivo. Respecto a la metodología, se aplicó una encuesta a los habitantes de una zona con un nivel alto de riesgo de inundación y erosión y se realizaron entrevistas a profundidad a gestores del riesgo. El aspecto a nivel del individuo o actor de la vulnerabilidad a riesgos originados en el medio biofísico está integrado por componentes cognitivo, emotivo y conductual de los actores sociales. Estos componentes constituyen la significación del riesgo y los resultados de la investigación muestran que esta incide en la vulnerabilidad y que, a su vez, participa en la construcción de la significación del riesgo en un ciclo de configuración recíproca. A vulnerabilidade a riscos originados no ambiente biofísico não é exclusivamente natural, nem sua análise envolve apenas cientistas naturais. Em sua origem e impacto, convergem dimensões econômicas e sociais, onde é relevante a consideração do papel dos moradores das áreas de risco e dos atores sociais envolvidos na gestão da prevenção de riscos e atenção à vulnerabilidade a eles. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o elemento subjetivo da vulnerabilidade aos riscos, ou seja, ao nível do indivíduo e compreender como ele participa da vulnerabilidade. O aspecto no nível do indivíduo ou ator da vulnerabilidade aos riscos originados no ambiente biofísico é integrado pelos componentes cognitivos, emocionais e comportamentais dos atores sociais. Esses componentes constituem a significação do risco e é ela que afeta a vulnerabilidade que, por sua vez, participa da construção da significação do risco em um ciclo de configuração recíproca.
