| description | The vindication of women's political rights has been a constant struggle for their autonomy and gender equality, acquired in international consensus on human rights and materialized in public policies. The objective of this article is to analyze the guarantee of human rights that the public policies of gender equity / equality in Colombia and Argentina achieved to achieve the empowerment and political autonomy of women. This is achieved under a qualitative, documentary and multiple case study approach. Under a normative evaluation approach and content analysis of public policies, it is analyzed how the public policies of the countries analyzed use most of the minimum content established in the Regional Gender Agenda to achieve political autonomy for women. The foregoing contrasts with the figures of political inequality that exist in Argentina and Colombia both in participation and access to positions of power. These results show the need to periodically evaluate the inclusion of the minimum content of rights established in international commitments in the formulation and implementation of public policies. |

La reivindicación de los derechos políticos de las mujeres ha sido una lucha constante por su autonomía e igualdad de género, adquiridos en los consensos internacionales de derechos humanos y materializados en las políticas públicas. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la garantía de derechos humanos que las políticas públicas de equidad/igualdad de género de Colombia y Argentina establecen para lograr el empoderamiento y autonomía política de las mujeres. Esto se logra bajo un enfoque cualitativo, documental y de estudio de caso múltiple. Bajo un enfoque de evaluación normativa y de análisis de contenido de las políticas públicas se analiza cómo se garantizan los mínimos establecidos en la Agenda Regional de Género para lograr la autonomía política de las mujeres. Lo anterior contrasta con las cifras de desigualdad política que existe en los dos países analizados, tanto en participación como en acceso a cargos de poder. Estos resultados demuestran la necesidad de evaluar periódicamente la inclusión de los contenidos mínimos de derechos establecidos en los compromisos internacionales en la formulación e implementación de las políticas públicas.
