This analysis made from a critical thought with contributions coming from different discipline to the law in search of interdisciplinary support to the defense of its formulation and carrying it out as a fundamental right. Based on the compilation of the process of forming societies in particular the Colombian one, around work and labor occupation, it has shown the influence that the explosion of the cost associated with the problems of the performance of workers in their functions, in terms of productivity, which have been a deciding factor in the labour unions processes; to conclude the birth of jobs in favor of workers are exposed, this is where the analizad category arises. To finalize some general observations are presented that pretend to center the analysis made in some specific aspects. |

El presente artículo pretende resaltar la importancia que ha tenido el desarrollo de la categoría seguridad y salud en el trabajo como elemento indispensable para la dignidad humana, análisis hecho desde el pensamiento crítico con aportes provenientes de disciplinas diferentes al derecho buscando un soporte interdisciplinar para la defensa de su formulación y realización como derecho fundamental. Se parte del recuento del proceso de formación de las sociedades, en particular la colombiana, en torno al trabajo y la ocupación laboral; luego se muestra la influencia que tuvo la explosión de costos asociados a problemas de los trabajadores en el cumplimiento de sus funciones en términos de productividad, para lo cual han sido determinantes los procesos sindicales; para finalizar se expone el nacimiento de los trabajos en pro de los trabajadores, lugar donde surge la categoría analizada. Como cierre se presentan algunas observaciones generales que pretenden centrar el análisis realizado en algunos aspectos concretos.
