Este trabajo de investigación es un estudio sobre la vida y el pensamiento educativo del Dr. José Félix de Restrepo, el Maestro de la Generación de Independencia de Colombia, quien desde Popayán, Antioquia y Bogotá formó numerosos políticos de la Primera República Granadina y la Gran Colombia. Su filosofía educativa y sus ideas sobre la educación primaria, secundaria y universitaria fueron las bases estructurales para la organización y consolidación de la educación en Colombia.
