Method: Methodological triangulation was used to identify the academic and technological needs of undergraduate students with a total of 6194 students from the central headquarters and the three affiliates of the university, through the survey technique for data collection and documentary analysis. of the proposal for the creation of the virtual campus.

Originalidad/contribución: El análisis argumenta la importancia y versatilidad del entorno virtual para el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, así como los retos y desafíos de la inmersión remota en una localidad altoandina a los ambientes virtuales de aprendizaje (AVA). Método: Se utilizó la triangulación metodológica para identificar las necesidades académicas y tecnológicas de los estudiantes de pregrado, con un total de 6194 estudiantes de la sede central y las tres filiales de la universidad, mediante la técnica de la encuesta para el recojo de datos y el análisis documental de la propuesta para la creación del campus virtual. Estrategias/recopilación de información: Se tomó como base la encuesta de necesidades académicas y tecnológicas realizada por el Departamento de Desarrollo Académico en el período 2020-2021, período de implementación de la educación a distancia por emergencia sanitaria mundial. Conclusiones: La importancia de la identificación de necesidades tecnológicas y académicas de los estudiantes de pregrado ha permitido disminuir las brechas académico-tecnológicas a partir de la propuesta de una plataforma con espacios pedagógicos creados digitalmente, como son el campus y el aula virtuales que ayudaron a incrementar la calidad de los procesos formativos a distancia, según los reportes estadísticos planteados en el artículo.
