Based on a survey of 158 farmers selected at random from the municipalities of Montelíbano, Puerto Libertador, Tierralta and Valencia, the influence exerted by the association, the cost of transportation, the state of the road and the distance to the sales sites, was determined using descriptive statistics and a logit model. The elements that had the greatest impact on transaction costs were the distance to the point of sale and the condition of the roads, mainly for Puerto Libertador, which had the greatest distance and the worst condition of the roads. Furthermore, a relevant effect was found on the part of the associations in the information that determines the price and zero supervision costs due to cash payment in the commercialization of cocoa. |

El desconocimiento en los análisis económicos relacionados con costos de transacción para la producción de cacao en el departamento de Córdoba determinó que el objetivo de este trabajo fuese identificar y analizar cuáles variables tienen mayor incidencia para los cacaoteros de Córdoba en sus costos de transacción. A partir de una encuesta a 158 agricultores seleccionados al azar de los municipios de Montelíbano, Puerto Libertador, Tierralta y Valencia se estableció ¾usando estadística descriptiva y un modelo tipo logit¾ la influencia que ejercen la asociatividad, el costo de transporte, el estado de la vía y la distancia a los sitios de venta. Los elementos que mayor incidencia tuvieron en los costos de transacción fueron la distancia al sitio de venta y el estado de las vías, principalmente para Puerto Libertador con la mayor distancia y el peor estado de las vías. Se encontró, además, un efecto relevante de parte de las asociaciones en la información que determina el precio y los nulos costos de supervisión debido al pago de contado en la comercialización del cacao.
