Public support for women basketball players is presented through two cases in which feminist activists have advocated for the development of new Puerto Rican sports geographies that integrate the voices, experiences and identities of women athletes. |

Este artículo trabaja el tema de las geografías deportivas en el contexto de Puerto Rico y su Equipo Nacional de baloncesto femenino. Se provee información sobre las luchas y gestas de las baloncelistas puertorriqueñas en distintas épocas. Además, se analizan los reclamos que tanto jugadoras, como activistas feministas del deporte hacen en favor de la equidad de género en deporte puertorriqueño. Se presentan dos casos en los cuales los reclamos públicos en apoyo a las baloncelistas se convierten también en propuestas para ampliar las geografías deportivas de Puerto Rico por medio de la integración de las voces, experiencias e identidades de las mujeres deportistas. Este artigo trata do tema das geografias esportivas no contexto de Porto Rico e sua Seleção Feminina de Basquetebol. São fornecidas informações sobre as lutas e façanhas dos jogadores de basquete porto-riquenhos em diferentes momentos. Além disso, são analisadas as reivindicações que tanto as jogadoras quanto as ativistas esportivas feministas fazem em favor da igualdade de gênero no esporte porto-riquenho. Dois casos são apresentados nos quais as reivindicações públicas em apoio às jogadoras de basquete também se tornam propostas para expandir as geografias esportivas de Porto Rico por meio da integração das vozes, experiências e identidades das atletas.
