description | The objective of this research was to explore the mathematical notions present in the daily practice of restoration of the heritage churches of Chiloé, Chile. Under a qualitative-ethnographic methodological path, a semi-structured interview protocol was implemented, applied to five carpenters who worked in church restoration through the Friends of the Churches of Chiloé Foundation. The results show that daily practice involves five moments of restoration: installation of tasks, disarmament stage, foundations, restructuring and completions. They include mathematical notions associated with measurement systems, geometric figures (representations of the parallelepiped, pyramid and cube) and their properties, reference systems, numbers, functions and their applications, angles, straight lines, among others. These findings are an input for the development of contextualized tasks that promote mathematical knowledge in students and encourage the appreciation of their own culture, connecting it with the institutional mathematics developed in the classrooms by teachers and students. |

El objetivo de esta investigación fue explorar las nociones matemáticas presentes en la práctica cotidiana de restauración de las iglesias patrimoniales de Chiloé, Chile. Bajo un camino metodológico cualitativo-etnográfico se implementó un protocolo de entrevista semiestructurada, aplicadas a cinco carpinteros que trabajaron en restauración de iglesias a través de la Fundación Amigos de las Iglesias de Chiloé. Los resultados muestran que la práctica cotidiana involucra cinco momentos de restauración: instalación de faenas, etapa de desarme, fundaciones, reestructuración y terminaciones. En ellos están presentes nociones matemáticas asociadas a los sistemas de medición, las figuras geométricas (representaciones del paralelepípedo, pirámide y cubo) y sus propiedades, sistemas de referencia, números, funciones y sus aplicaciones, ángulos, líneas rectas, entre otros. Estos hallazgos son un insumo para el desarrollo de tareas contextualizadas que promuevan conocimientos matemáticos en los estudiantes y se fomente la valoración de la cultura propia, conectándola con la matemática institucional desarrollada en las aulas de clases por profesores y estudiantes.
