Summary: | Objective: the purpose of this article was to approach the state of the art on the interrelation between initial pedagogical practice, teacher training and distance education, based on a literature review of the scientific production of the last eight years, based on the question: what aspects characterize the existing scientific production on initial pedagogical practices in the distance education modality?.
Originality: the study allowed consolidating a theoretical, practical and reflective background on teacher training from the distance education modality, where aspects such as professional identity, teaching vocation, reflective practice and professional development allow understanding the sense and meaning of pedagogical practice.
Method: systematic bibliographic review of scientific production having as central categories: initial pedagogical practice, distance education and teacher training, from the search, selection, analysis and synthesis to build a state of the question.
Strategies/information collection: an equation was created, the period from 2014 to 2022 was defined, databases were searched: Scopus, Publindex, Redalyc and Google Scholar, 123 documents were found, exclusion criteria were applied and a documentary corpus of 61 files was configured.
Conclusions: the article consolidates the following elements: 1) identification of documentary corpus, 2) analysis of theoretical trends, 3) methodological guidelines implemented. As a result, the need to understand the sense and meaning of initial pedagogical practices in initial training in distance education in a Bachelor's degree program in Colombia is evidenced.
