Descripción
Summary:This article examines, in a brief way, the process of monopolization and transnationalization in the capitalist system, starting from the initial foresight of Adam Smith and Carlos Marx, focusing in the transition from free competence capitalism to monopolist capitalism, based on production concentration and capital centralization, which leads to the emergence and consolidation of transnational corporations. To end, it is presented a snappy “x ray” of the “precocious” appearance of monopolies in a peripheral and backward economy, as the Colombian, and the relative weight of the big financial groups in the late decades of the 20th century and early of 21st century.
