Este trabajo presenta una propuesta didáctica para la enseñanza de circuitos eléctricos básicos, estructurada alrededor del modelo constructivista y dos de sus variantes: el aprendizaje significativo y el aprendizaje colaborativo. Con la prueba DIRECT se evaluó la capacidad de análisis de circuitos eléctricos de corriente continua en estudiantes de Licenciatura en Tecnología de la Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, formados con el modelo tradicional. Teniendo en cuenta los malos resultados, se propone una metodología como guía para el docente. Se plantea la estrategia didáctica, compuesta por tres guías de trabajo, en las cuales se incluyen actividades de indagación individual, trabajo en grupo y solución de problemas del entorno.
