La presente reflexión pretende articular tres ejes: Diseño, Desarrollo Social y Responsabilidad Ambiental por medio de la práctica de la experimentación de materiales biodegradables. La discusión se aborda desde 5 casos prácticos de investigaciones enfocadas en exponer la pertinencia del diseño sustentable como articulador del aspecto social y medioambiental en el quehacer de la disciplina, De esta manera se presenta al diseñador como agente responsable de cambio en la sociedad desde su acción, no solo al dotar de características simbólicas y formales a los objetos, sino como productor de cambio a través del desarrollo de tangibles e intangibles que integren la realidad holística del sector o comunidad donde sea implementado.
