description This article aims at making a critical analysis on those works concerning the process of modernization of the university in Colombia, which emerged in the second half of the 21stcentury, with the implementation of the American model, the American missions’ diagnosis, the education policy reform, and the institutions created in order to change the task of the university of professions to the university for work. The first part of this paper outlines some theoretical and methodological aspects that favor the reading of the researches on modernization of the university in the modernity/coloniality perspective. The second part of this work presents the critical synthesis of researches and papers centered on studying the university in Colombia between 1953 and 1974.

El artículo pretende hacer un análisis crítico sobre los trabajos que han abordado el proceso de modernización de la universidad en Colombia, que emerge en la segunda mitad del siglo XX con la introducción del modelo norteamericano, los diagnósticos de las misiones norteamericanas, la reforma de las políticas educativas y la creación de instituciones para transformar el quehacer de la universidad de las profesiones a la universidad para el trabajo. En la primera parte del texto se esbozan algunos aspectos teóricos y metodológicos que permiten la lectura de las investigaciones sobre modernización de la universidad en la perspectiva modernidad/colonialidad, la segunda parte presenta la síntesis crítica de investigaciones y documentos elaborados que han estudiado la universidad colombiana en la segunda mitad del siglo XX.  Cet article prétend réaliser une analyse critique des travaux qui ont traité du processus de modernisation de l’Université en Colombie, qui a émergé dans la seconde moitié du XXème siècle avec l’introduction du modèle nord-américain, les diagnostics des missions nord-américaines, la réforme des politiques éducatives et la création d’institutions dirigées à transformer les activités de l’Université des professions en celles d’une Université pour le travail. Dans la première partie du texte certains aspects théoriques et méthodologiques sont définis et permettent la lecture des recherches sur la modernisation de l’université dans le cadre de la modernité et du colonialisme, la seconde partie présente la synthèse critique des recherches et des documents élaborés à propos des études réalisées sur l’université colombienne durant la seconde moitié du XXème siècle. O artigo pretende fazer uma análise crítica sobre os trabalhos que têm discutido o processo de modernização da universidade na Colômbia, que começa na segunda metade do século XX com a introdução do modelo norte-americano, os diagnósticos das missões norte-americanas, a reforma das políticas educativas, e a criação de instituições para transformar o fazer da universidade das profissões à universidade para o trabalho. Na primeira parte do texto se explanam alguns aspectos teóricos e metodológicos que permitem a leitura das investigações sobre modernização da universidade na perspectiva modernidade/colonialidade, a segunda parte apresenta a síntese de investigações e documentos elaborados que têm estudado auniversidade colombiana na segunda metade do século XX.
