description In 1937, the Institute of Experimental Psychology, led by Leo Walther, began the psycho-technical application of tests, based on files and papers and on the social history of the institutions method which supports that in Colombia as well as in Latin America, Psychology arises from the pedagogy context. The basic interest of those psychological studies carried on in education is related, in a special way, to the diagnosis and selection of students from measurement and evaluation. That was the reason to apply the first IQ tests, such as Lewis Terman and Army’s. Furthermore, Dearborn Tests provide the fundamental frameworks to understand and deal with reading difficulties. Ballard hearing tests were also applied. At that time the first manuals on test application by Alejandro Cano, among others, and the normal school students’ first thesis about this subject appeared.

Con base en archivos y documentos y con el método de la historia social de las instituciones que sustenta que en Colombia, y que en general en América Latina, la psicología nace dentro del contexto de la pedagogía, el Instituto de Psicología Experimental inició la aplicación psicotécnica de test en el año 1937, dirigido por Leo Walter. El interés fundamental de los estudios sicológicos aplicados a la educación se relaciona de modo especial con el diagnóstico y la selección de los estudiantes a partir de pruebas de medición y evaluación. Por esta razón se aplican los primeros test de inteligencia como el de Lewis Terman y Army. De otra parte, los test de Dearborn proporcionan los marcos fundamentales para comprender y tratar las dificultades de lectura, se aplican también los test auditivos de Ballard. En la época aparecen los primeros manuales sobre la aplicación de test por parte de Alejandro Cano, entre otros, y la primera tesis sobre el tema elaborada por estudiantes normalistas superiores.   Sur base d’archives et de documents et de la méthode de l’histoire sociale des institutions qui affirment qu’en Colombie et, en règle générale, en Amérique Latine, la psychologie nait dans le contexte de la pédagogie, L’Institut de Psychologie Expérimentale a commencé l’application psychotechnique de test en 1937, celle-ci était dirigée par Leo Walther. L’intérêt fondamental des études psychologiques appliquées à l’éducation provient tout spécialement du diagnostic de la sélection des étudiants à partir d’épreuves de mesure et d’évaluation. Pour cette raison, les premiers tests d’intelligence comme ceux de Lewis Terman et Army ont été appliqués. D’autre part, les tests de Dearborn ont fournis les cadres principaux permettant de comprendre et de traiter les difficultés de lecture, les tests auditifs de Ballard étaient également appliqués. Â l’époque sont apparus les premiers manuels sur l’application du test par Alejandro Cano, entre autres, et la première thèse sur le thème élaborée par des étudiants d’écoles normales supérieures. O interesse fundamental dos estudos psicológicos aplicados à educação se relaciona de modo especial com o diagnóstico e a seleção dos alunos a partir de provas de medição e avaliação. Por causa disso se aplicam os primeiros testes de inteligência como o de Lewis Terman e Army, De outra parte, os testes de Dearborn proporcionam os marcos fundamentais para compreender e tratar as dificuldades de leitura, se aplicam também os testes auditivos de Ballard. Na época aparecem os primeiros manuais sobre a aplicação de testes pelo Alejandro Cano, entre outros, e a primeira tese sobre o tema, elaborada por alunos normalistas superiores.
