In such a context, this paper presents the results of a research whose purpose was to analyze the impact of the discussion about controversial aspects of a socioscientific issue (SCI) on the SLT process of a group of youth and adults who studied a secondary school program by cycles in the town of Chia, Cundinamarca (Colombia). Some SCI-based activities related to the pollution caused by the industrial action in the Rio Frio sub-basin river (Cundinamarca, Colombia) were designed and implemented for the analysis. It was found that working with SCI in literacy processes allows the formation of a critical and participatory subject, thus encouraging the learning of science concepts and their relationship with social and technological implications. |

Los procesos de alfabetización científica y tecnológica (ACT) desarrollados con comunidades de jóvenes y adultos, generalmente no trascienden el aula de clase, aconteciendo simplemente como un requisito para la obtención de un título. En ese contexto el presente artículo expone los resultados de una investigación cuyo propósito fue analizar la incidencia de la discusión de los aspectos controvertidos de una cuestión socio-científica CSC), en el proceso de ACT de un grupo de jóvenes y adultos que realizaban su bachillerato por ciclos en el municipio de Chía, Cundinamarca (Colombia). Para ello se diseñaron e implementaron una serie de actividades basadas en la CSC relacionadas con la contaminación de la subcuenca del río Frío (Cundinamarca, Colombia) por causa de la acción industrial. A partir de lo anterior se evidenció que el trabajo con la CSC en procesos de alfabetización permite la formación de un sujeto crítico y participativo, incentivando el aprendizaje de los conceptos propios de las ciencias y su relación con implicaciones sociales y tecnológicas. Les processus d’alphabétisation scientifique et technologique (AST) développés dans des communautés de jeunes gens et d’adultes, ne dépassent généralement pas la salle de classe, se considérant simplement comme une exigence pour l’obtention du diplôme. Dans ce contexte, le présent article expose les résultats d’une recherche dont le but était d’analyser l’incidence de la discussion des aspects controversé d’une question socio-scientifique (QSS), dans le processus d’AST d’un groupe de jeunes gens et d’adultes qui réalisaient leur baccalauréat par cycle dans la Municipalité de Chia, Cundinamarca (Colombie). Pour se faire, on a conçu et implémenté une série d’activités basées sur la QSS, se rapportant à la contamination du sous-bassin de la rivière Frío (Cundinamarca, Colombie) par suite de l’implantation industrielle. Sur base de ce qui précède, on a mis en évidence que le travail de la QSS dans des processus d’alphabétisation permettait la formation d’un individu critique et participatif, stimulant l’apprentissage des concepts propres des sciences et leur relation avec les implications sociales et technologiques. Os processos de alfabetização científica e tecnológica (ACT) desenvolvidos com comunidades de jovens e adultos, geralmente não ultrapassam a sala de aula, acontecendo simplesmente como um requisito para a obtenção de um título. Neste contexto o presente artigo expõe os resultados de uma pesquisa que teve como objetivo analisar a incidência da discussão dos aspectos controvertidos de uma questão sócio-científica (CSC), no processo de ACT de um grupo de jovens e adultos que realizavam seu ensino médio por ciclos no município de Chia, Cundinamarca (Colômbia). Para isto desenharamse atividades baseadas na CSC relacionadas com a contaminação da subbacia do Rio Frio (Cundinamarca, Colômbia) por causa da ação industrial. A partir do anterior evidenciou-se que o trabalho com a CSC em processos de alfabetização permite a formação de um sujeito crítico e participativo, incentivando a aprendizagem dos conceitos próprios das ciências e sua relação com implicações sociais e tecnológicas.
