description | Art provides new ways of healing in psychosocial work. It develops experience in the so-called “third space” by generating a gradual approach to the painful experience in which violence is not placed in the foreground –the person concerned is in charge of his/her own healing process. In the same vein, the ‘places of memory’ with a violent past can be transformed into ‘spaces of transference’ (Winnicott) where individuals can become confident as well as empower themselves. ‘Literary metaphor’ allows to experience collective images that strengthen identity and to rebuild the trust or the social relationships violence have destroyed. ‘Scenes of forum theater’ work has to do with the creation of an image of the reality and its transformation into a ‘space of transference’ for real life. The three approaches Paulo Freire Institute has used for its varied experiences between Latin America and Europe show that artistic approaches enable a careful way in which both trust and relationships grow and become a vehicle of social change. |

El arte ofrece nuevos caminos de sanación en el trabajo psicosocial. Elabora la experiencia en el denominado “tercer espacio”, que genera un acercamiento paulatino a la experiencia dolorosa en el cual la situación de violencia no se sitúa en primer plano, la persona afectada es sujeto de su propio proceso de sanación. Igualmente «los lugares de la memoria» con un pasado violento se pueden transformar en “espacios de traspaso” (Winnicott) donde se puede experimentar confianza y empoderarse. A través de la «metáfora literaria» se experimentan nuevamente imágenes colectivas que fortalecen la identidad y se puede reconstruir aquello que la violencia destruyó de la confianza o de las relaciones sociales. El trabajo con «escenas del teatro foro» consiste en la creación y transformación de una imagen de la realidad como “espacio de traspaso” para la vida real. Los tres abordajes con los que el Instituto Paulo Freire ha podido tener diversas experiencias entre Latinoamérica y Europa demuestran que los enfoques artísticos posibilitan el abordaje, especialmente cuidadoso, donde la confianza y las relaciones crecen y pueden convertirse en motor de transformación social. L’art offre de nouvelles voies de guérison dans le travail psychosocial. Il élabore l’expérience dans le dénommé “troisième espace”, qui génère un rapprochement progressif avec l’expérience douloureuse dans laquelle la situation de violence se situe au premier plan, la personne affectée est liée à son propre processus de guérison. De même, «les endroits de la mémoire» ayant un passé violent peuvent se transformer en “espaces de transition” (Winnicott) où l’on peut expérimenter la confiance et s’émanciper. Au moyen de la «métaphore littéraire» on expérimente à nouveau des images collectives qui renforcent l’identité et on peut reconstruire ce que la violence a détruit dans la confiance ou les relations sociales. Le travail avec des «scènes de Forum Théâtral» consiste en une création et une transformation d’une image de la réalité en un “espace de transition” pour la vie réelle. Les trois traitements avec lesquels l’Institut Paulo Freire a pu avoir diverses expériences en Amérique Latine et en Europe démontrent que les approches artistiques rendent possible le traitement, spécialement soigneux, où la confiance et les relations grandissent et peuvent se convertir en moteur de transformation sociale.
