description | This paper is the result of the research work “Origin of Teachers´ Colleges in Caldas Department”. The research followed chronologically the historical phases of the methodology: heuristics, doxography, etiology and historical synthesis, in order to understand the development of these institutions, from their beginnings to their current status as the recognized institutions for initial teacher training. Because of their role as the institutions charged with training the first levels of the Colombian educational cadres, it is possible through a study of their development to understand, interpret, characterize, describe the processes of scientific research of historical design; given that these institutions have been the field of action for the study of educational problems, rooted in historical, theoretical, practical, and experiential considerations. This historical-educational study covers the period between 1909,when the first Teachers College in Caldas was created, and 1978, when the approval of Decree 1419 changed the qualifications of teachers from being graduates of Teachers Colleges to holders of a degree of Bachelor of Pedagogy. This study documents the centralized and rigid way in which these teacher training institutions have been established and developed. Consequently, they can be characterized as institutions regulated by a narrow vision, in which the State exercises control over the discussions and pedagogical practices that build the school culture.

Este trabajo es resultado de la investigación “Origen de las las Escuelas Normales del Departamento de Caldas” y se desarrollo con base en las siguientes fases del método histórico: Heurísitca, Doxografía, Etiología y Síntesis histórica, con el objetivo de comprender la manera como surgieron estas instituciones las cuales son reconocidas como instituciones dedicadas a la formación inicial de maestros. Se puede plantear que las Escuelas Normales como formadoras de maestros para los primeros niveles de la educación colombiana son entidades desde las cuales es posible comprender, interpretar, caracterizar, describir procesos de investigación científica de orden histórico, en tanto en estas instituciones se han delimitado objetos y problemas de estudio, que tienen origen en la reflexión histórica, teórica, práctica y experiencial de su quehacer para dar cuenta de su papel en el acto educativo, el cual es su campo de acción. Este es un estudio histórico- educativo que se ubica entre 1909, creación de la primer Escuela Normal en Caldas y 1978, año en que se aprueba el Decreto 1419 con el cual cambio la titulación de los egresados de las Escuelas Normales pasando de ser maestros normalista a ser Bachilleres Pedagógicos. Este estudio permite entender la forma centralizada y rígida como han sido establecidas las disposiciones y reformas para las instituciones formadoras de maestros, permite caracterizarlas como instituciones reguladas por una visión centrada en el sistema, en la cual el Estado ejerce el control sobre los discursos y las prácticas pedagógicas que constituyen la cultura escolar. Este trabalho é resultado da pesquisa “Origen de las Escuelas Normales del Departamento de Caldas” e foi desenvolvido com base nas seguintes fases do método histórico: Heurística, Doxografia, Etiologia e Síntese histórica, com o objetivo de compreender a maneira como surgiram tais instituições, as quais são reconhecidas como instituições que se dedicam à formação inicial de profesores. Pode-se supor que as Escolas Normais, como formadoras de professores para os primeiros anos da educação colombiana, são instituições a partir de onde é possivel compreeneder, interpretar, caracterizar e descrever processos de pesquisa científica de caráter histórico, entretanto, nelas, tem-se circunscritos certos objetos e problemas de pesquisa originados de uma reflexão histórica, teórica, prática e experimental do próprio fazer cotidiano, para dar conta do seu papel no ato educativo, o qual é o seu campo de atuação. Trata-se de um estudo histórico educativo localizado entre 1909, quando se criou a primeira Escola Normal em Caldas, e 1978, ano em se aprova o Decreto 1419 que fez alterar a desginação dos egressados das Escolas Normais, até então maestros normalistas e pasando, para Bachilleres Pedagógicos. Este estudo permite entender a forma centralizada e rígida como haviam sido estabelecidas as disposições e reformas para as instituições formadoras de profesores que pode caracterizá-las como instituições reguladas por uma visão centrada no sistema, sob qual o Estado tem controle sobre os discursos e sobre as práticas pedagógicas que constituem a cultura escolar.
