El denominado “espíritu de la época”, concepto usado por Carl G. Jung en relación a su acercamiento al arte y a la ciencia, enriquecido a su vez por el de inconsciente colectivo, guarda concordancia con la noción de sujeto cultural de Edmond Cros. A pesar de surgir desde diferentes momentos históricos, Cros y Jung abordan cómo la cultura y lo simbólico, lo dado, se reproducen en toda producción social o artística. En este artículo se revisan las aplicaciones hechas por el psicólogo suizo en referencia al proceso creativo y el fenómeno literario para establecer una comparación entre los postulados de ambos pensadores.
