Description
Summary:This article presents a comparative study of the curricula of Chile, Argentina and Colombia, regarding the treatment given to historical memory. The methodology used is qualitative. The use of analytical tools has allowed for the codiication of content; the om issions as well as the objectives proposed in the curricula regarding contemporary history. Among the main results, it can be highlighted that the programs of the three countries coincide in including the recent past as well as topics related to human rights, the dictatorships and political violence. However, their incorporation is carried out from the oficial perspective of the government, without problematizing the processes, while promoting aspects related to «national reconciliation». This situation impedes the creation of a space for the criticism of, and relection on, the events that have  taken place and the possibilities of citizens to participate in the protection of human rights.
