Natalia Górriz was not only a teacher, and the director of the main Teachers colleges in her country, she was also a feminist writer and geographer. Her work integrates key concepts that redefine the teacher's role, one of her most recurrent concerns. In addition to embracing the main ideas of educational psychology of that time, she also presents ideas about the recognition of children´s rights within the school organization. The analysis of her work is based on historical-hermeneutic methods and carried out through a comprehensive compilation of her work written in books and newspaper articles. |

El presente artículo describe y analiza la obra de la primera educadora centroamericana y autora de los textos sobre pedagogía que más influenciaron a las estudiantes y educadoras de principios del siglo XX. Natalia Górriz no solo fue profesora, directora de las principales escuelas normales del país, fue también escritora feminista y geógrafa. Su obra incorpora conceptos clave que redefinen el rol del docente, una de sus preocupaciones más recurrentes. Además de hacer suyas las principales ideas de la psicología educativa de la época, también presenta ideas acerca del reconocimiento de los derechos del niño por parte de la organización escolar. Além de tornar suas as principais ideias da psicologia educativa da época, também apresentou ideias sobre o reconhecimento dos direitos da criança por parte da organização escolar.
