Because of this fact, the objective of this research paper is to analyze this historical period from the perspective of a peninsular Spanish social group: The Posse, who went through this revolutionary period – with some difficulties – thanks to the economic and family links, were established since their arrival to the Viceroyalty of Río de La Plata in 1780. La transición del Antiguo Régimen al proceso de revolución e independencia generó en el contexto económico la reorientación definitiva - en el caso del Río de la Plata - de los flujos comerciales hacia el Atlántico. Los comerciantes gallegos que se radicaron a fines del siglo XVIII se adaptaron a esta nueva coyuntura mediante la implementación de diversas estrategias económicas y de reproducción social. Por este motivo, el propósito de esta investigación fue analizar este período a la luz de una familia de origen español peninsular como los Posse, que atravesó el período revolucionario – no sin dificultades – gracias a la fortaleza de los vínculos de parentesco y económicos que reprodujeron desde su arribo al Virreinato del Río de la Plata en 1780.
