frequency of nouns. The design of the test was based on the proposal of Carlisle (2000).
The errors were classified following Marín (2013) and analyzed based on the levels of
difficulty in acquiring English affixes from Bauer and Nation (1993) and the morpholog-
ical derivation knowledge aspects of Tyler and Nagy (1989). The results show that both
the percentage and the type of errors vary according to the level of proficiency of the
participants. A large percentage of use of inflectional suffixes was found, that is, of lower
difficulty level; and it was evidenced that the distributional knowledge of the suffixes is the
last to be acquired. These findings may be useful for teaching purposes |

These findings may be useful for teaching purposes La morfología juega un papel importante en los estudios de adquisición de L2 debido a su relación con el vocabulario y la lectura de comprensión (Curinga, 2014; Ramirez et.al., 2011; Kieffer y Lesaux, 2008). Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar los resultados del análisis de errores de una prueba morfológica que evalúa sustantivos deverbales en inglés derivados a partir de cuatro sufijos nominalizadores. El diseño de la prueba se basó inicialmente en la tarea de derivación de Carlise (2000), aunque en este trabajo se privilegió además el control de cuatro variables: el nivel de dificultad y productividad de los sufijos, y el estatus de cognado y frecuencia de los sustantivos. Los participantes fueron 130 universitarios mexicanos que estudian inglés como L2, ubicados en tres distintos niveles de proficiencia según el MCER. Los errores encontrados se clasificaron siguiendo la propuesta de Marín Serrano (2013). Los resultados muestran que los errores varían de acuerdo con el tipo de sufijo y el nivel de proficiencia de los participantes. Se encuentra que los participantes más proficientes no cometen errores de tipo semántico o sintáctico en la elección de sufijos, esto evidencia que el conocimiento distribucional de los sufijos nominalizadores es el último en adquirirse. Il existe de diverses études sur l’acquisition morphologique de l’anglais comme L2, mais on n’a pas approfondi sur les erreurs qui font les participants. L’objectif dans cet article est celui d’analyser les erreurs dans une épreuve de dérivation pour déterminer des différences de pourcentages et de typologies entre participants mexicains avec une performance différente en anglais. La méthodologie a été exploratoire, de type quasi expérimental. On s’est centré sur quatre suffixes de nominalisation, en contrôlant leur niveau de difficulté et de productivité, et le statut de cognat et fréquence des substantifs. La conception de l’épreuve a été basée sur la proposition de Carlisle (2000). Les erreurs ont été classées en suivant Marín (2013) et ont été analysées à partir des niveaux de difficulté dans l’acquisition d’affixes en anglais de Bauer et Nation (1993) et les aspects de la connaissance de dérivation morphologique de Tyler et Nagy (1989). Les résultats montrent que tant le pourcentage que le type d’erreurs varient selon le niveau de performance des participants. On a trouvé un grand pourcentage d’utilisation de suffixes à flexion, c’est-à-dire, de niveau de difficulté plus bas. Et on a mis en évidence que la connaissance distributionnelle des suffixes, c’est la dernière que l’on acquiert. A metodologia foi exploratória de tipo quase-experimental. Ele se concentrou em quatro sufixos nominaliza- dores controlando seu nível de dificuldade e produtividade, e o status de cognatos e frequência dos substantivos. O desenho do teste foi baseado na proposta de Carlisle (2000). Os erros foram classificados de acordo com Marin (2013) e analisados com base nos níveis de dificul- dade em adquirir afixos em inglês de Bauer e Nation (1993) e aspectos do conhecimento da derivação morfológica de Tyler e Nagy (1989). Os resultados mostram que tanto a porcentagem quanto o tipo de erros variam de acordo com o nível de proficiência dos participantes. Uma grande porcentagem de uso de sufixos flexionais foi encontrada, ou seja, de menor nível de dificuldade; e ficou evidenciado que o conhecimento distribucional dos sufixos é o último a ser adquirido.
