discusses the gay-lesbian liberation movements of the 1970s decade in Germany, in order to analyze
how, in Schernikau’s literary text, it can be seen that, new systems for the production and intelligibility
of humanness were starting to opérate at the beginning of the 1980s. Within these new systems, the log-
ic of shame and discretion seems still to be at work, together with the normalization of homosexuality,
following the parameters of normal heterosexual life. This was a time when sexuality was starting to be
an issue for debate in the media, which became a new type of power/knowledge for this reason. In this
context, identity became a strong weapon of political struggle. |

Kleinstadtnovelle de Ronald Schernikau se publica en 1980, año bisagra entre la década de la Schulewebegung en Alemania y una creciente normalización transnacional de lo gay que dará como resultado en Estados Unidos la perspectiva de los Estudios y la militancia queer. Este artículo realiza un recorrido por los movimientos de liberación gay-lésbica de la década del setenta en Alemania para luego analizar cómo en el texto literario de Schernikau se puede ver que a comienzos de los ochenta ya comenzaban a operarse nuevos regímenes de producción e inteligibilidad de lo humano. Dentro de estos nuevos regímenes parece seguir operando la lógica de la vergüenza y la discreción así como la normalización de la homosexualidad siguiendo los parámetros de la vida normal heterosexual. Se trata de una época en donde ya la sexualidad comienza a ser tema de debate en los medios de comunicación y, con ello, se convierten éstos en un nuevo saber/poder. En este contexto, la identidad se vuelve una fuerte arma de lucha política.
