El presente texto tiene como objetivo resaltar la presencia y participación de las mujeres michoacanas durante el conflicto entre el Estado y la Iglesia católica en México en la primera mitad del siglo XX conocido como la Guerra de los Cristeros. Ello, con la finalidad principal de puntualizar la gran importancia que tuvieron las mujeres en dicho movimiento no sólo como proveedoras de armas, municiones y noticias entre diferentes grupos, sino como entes fundamentales en la conservación y realización clandestina de las actividades propias del culto católico. De este modo se procura descubrir cuáles eran las motivaciones tanto personales como sociales de dichas mujeres para realizar las diferentes acciones en favor de la guerra no importando las consecuencias que se pudieran tener.
