In that vein, thecontributions of Michel Foucault are important in his dedication to the ile and the theoretical analysis of social reality, which have allowed him to explain other realitiesthat were out of traditional structures. In this way, the method gets closer to the relections about language and culture, which provides innovative aspects in thetreatment of society and, especially of human groups that are out of the “normal” context of society. |

El texto que se presenta a continuación tiene por objeto hacer una reflexión sobre el uso de teorías y métodos en las Ciencias Sociales y en la Historia. Para muchos autores estos dos componentes parecían irreconciliables en el desarrollo de un trabajo de investigación, pareciera que unos usaban la teoría, mientras la labor de los otros era compilar la información de los archivos. Esto hizo que a lo largo del siglo XX la historia y las Ciencias Sociales divagaran entre el formalismo de los conceptos y la recopilación de datos, lo que dejaba fuertes vacíos en los procesos investigativos. En ese orden de ideas, los aportes de Michel Foucault son importantes por cuando su dedicación al archivo y el análisis teórico de la realidad social, le han permitido explicar otras realidades que se salían de las estructuras tradicionales, así el método se acerca a las reflexiones sobre el lenguaje y la cultura, lo que aporta aspectos innovadores en el tratamiento de la sociedad y en especial de grupos humanos que se salen del contexto “normal” de la sociedad.
