Este artículo pretende analizar la influencia de la gestión de la tecnología en la producción industrial, la cual ha originado cambios radicales en el uso de los factores de producción, la mano de obra, por ejemplo, está siendo sustituida por conocimientos técnicos y de capital los cuales generan incrementos significativos en los índices de productividad. La competitividad por su parte, cada vez centra más su importancia en la innovación, como elemento de cambio y transformación, esta ha permitido diseñar sistemas de producción flexible, los cuales permiten en la actualidad obtener procesos eficientes sin la práctica de las economías de escala. La educación técnica, universitaria y tecnológica, debe perfilar un profesional creativo, preocupado por el diseño, la organización y la gestión de sistemas tecnológicos acordes con nuestra realidad, se necesita de un acompañamiento integral en los procesos tecnológicos, donde las alianzas y proyectos sean fruto de la reactivación dinámica en la relación Empresa - Universidad - Gobierno.
