description | The purpose is to develop and to deploy some economically competitive technologies for Biodiesel's production in Colombia, involving the design and construction of a prototype as a technological development. After studying different material's characteristics, it was selected the austenitic steel ANSI 304. To the monitoring system and for the automatic variables control of (Temperature, time and speed) two microcontrollers PIC 18F452 were implemented, together with a microcontroller PIC 12F629, in configuration a master-two slaves. For the variables visualization a screen LCD PG128128 was used, with interface graph and configurable menu by applying a matrix keyboard. The device registers information of temperature and speed using the memory EEPROM reports of the master microcontroller to visualize them in graphics, with connection to a PC. Finally the prototype functioning was evaluated by the production and the African Palm’s bio-diesel quality analysis. The test consisted in the determination of the content of methyl esters in the samples that cameo ut of the production process, for which a gas chromatograph Varian 3400 was used. The results show conversions up of 86,23 % in average. |

El propósito de este trabajo es desarrollar y desplegar tecnologías económicamente competitivas para la producción de biodiésel en Colombia, involucrando el diseño y construcción de un prototipo como desarrollo tecnológico. Se estudiaron características de diferentes materiales, seleccionándose el acero austenítico ANSI 304. Para el sistema de monitoreo y control automático de variables (temperatura, tiempo y velocidad) se implementaron dos microcontroladores PIC 18F452, junto con un microcontrolador PIC 12F629, en configuración un maestro-dos esclavos. Para la visualización de las variables se utilizó una pantalla LCD PG128128, con interfaz gráfica y menú configurable mediante teclado matricial. El dispositivo registra datos de temperatura y velocidad empleando la memoria EEPROM del microcontrolador maestro para visualizarlos en modo gráfico, adicionalmente se incluyó un puerto de comunicación serial con conexión a un PC. Finalmente se evaluó el funcionamiento del prototipo mediante producción y análisis de calidad del biodiésel de palma africana, el análisis consistió en la determinación del contenido de esteres metílicos en las muestras resultantes del proceso de producción, para lo cual se usó un cromatógrafo de gases Varian 3400, los resultados arrojaron datos de conversión hasta del 86,23 % en promedio.
