description | This article arises from the reflection on the results obtained in reading competence, by the students of 3rd and 5th grades of the Educational Institution “Sugamuxi”, in the Saber 2015 tests, the information of the Synthetic Index of Educational Quality and the contributions of some theorists such as Sole, Mendoza and Pérez. The results obtained in the diagnostic phase developed with the Educational Action Research methodology will be reported. First, it presents an analysis of the problems in relation to reading; Afterwards, it makes a background review about the subject, it continues with a referential frame that guides the proposal; and presents the diagnosis of the existing problem in terms of reading levels. It ends with a reflection on the educational task and the importance of strengthening pedagogical practices to improve reading comprehension. |

Este artículo surge de la reflexión sobre los resultados obtenidos en competencia lectora, por los estudiantes de grados 3° y 5° de la Institución Educativa Colegio de Sugamuxi, en las pruebas Saber 2015, la información del Índice Sintético de Calidad Educativa y los aportes de algunos teóricos como Sole, Mendoza y Pérez. Se dará cuenta de los resultados obtenidos en la fase diagnóstica desarrollada con metodología Investigación Acción Educativa. Primero, presenta un análisis de la problemática en relación con la lectura; posteriormente, hace una revisión de antecedentes acerca del tema, continúa con un marco referencial que orienta la propuesta; y presenta el diagnóstico de la problemática existente en cuanto a niveles de lectura. Finaliza con una reflexión acerca del quehacer educativo y la importancia de fortalecer las prácticas pedagógicas para mejorar la comprensión de lectura.
