description This article presents a reflective process on the importance of the teacher to develop citizenship skills from the pedagogical level with the chair of peace. The experiences of the tutor and the student were retaken during the training process and development of the subjects of the General area: Guidelines and Educational Didactics in Ethics, Values and Religion, Humanistic Partner I and II and Ethics and Policy of the Degree in Basic Education with emphasis in Mathematics, Humanities and Spanish Language, from the Regional Center for Distance Studies of Bogotá. It was complemented with articles, documents and related legislation; the theo- retical contributions were articulated with the experiences in the classroom and the teaching experiences. The conclusions call for the university professors of the Bachelor’s Degree and the Graduates in formation to develop the chair of peace, in practical form from the classrooms; through his teaching practice.

Este artículo presenta un proceso reflexivo sobre la importancia del docente para desarrollar las competencias ciudadanas desde el nivel pedagógico con la Cátedra de la Paz. Se retomaron las experiencias del tutor y del estudiante durante el proceso formativo y desarrollo de las asignaturas del área General: Lineamientos y Didáctica Educativa en Ética, Valores y Religión, Socio humanística I y II y Ética y Política de la Licenciatura en Educación Básica con énfasis en Matemáticas, Humanidades y Lengua Castellana, del Centro Regional de Estudios a Distancia Bogotá. Se complementó con artículos, documentos y la legislación relacionada, se articularon los aportes teóricos con las vivencias en el aula y las experiencias docentes. Las conclusiones hacen un llamado a los docentes universitarios de la Licenciatura y a los Licenciados en formación para que desarrollen la cátedra de la paz, en forma práctica desde las aulas; a través de su ejercicio docente.
