description	The objective of this article is to show the legal process of private banking, which originated in Colombia during the period of Liberal Radicalism (1863-1886). With the rise of the Regeneration in 1886, its advance over the country the Presidential Centralism, of Catholic and authoritarian court, would directly affect the interests of bankers, merchants and producers who used the benefits of free banking. With the arrival of the regenerating government, bankers will be forced into the laws imposed since centralization, the imposition of monetary policies and credit policies. The methodology used is qualitative and seeks to analyze the regulations, problems and difficulties that occurred in Colombia between 1870 and 1923. It was noted that given the difficulties in organizing the banking system in Colombia, it was necessary to establish controls with greater severity. Private Banks, for example, the Kemmerer Mission in 1922, which raised the need to centralize the country's banking system, thus giving rise to the Bank of the Republic, with functions of the Central Bank and regulating private banks by means of the Banking Superintendence.

El objetivo de este artículo es mostrar el proceso legal de la banca privada, el cual se originó en Colombia durante el periodo del Radicalismo Liberal (1863-1886). Luego, con el ascenso de la Regeneración en 1886, su avance sobre en el país con el Centralismo presidencialista, de corte católico y autoritario, que afectaría los intereses de los banqueros, comerciantes y productores que utilizaban los beneficios de la banca libre. Posteriormente, con la llegada del gobierno regenerador los banqueros se verán forzados a las leyes impuestas desde la centralización, la imposición de políticas monetarias y de políticas crediticias. La metodología empleada, en este sentido, es de carácter cualitativa y busca realizar el análisis de las regulaciones, problemas y dificultades que se presentaron en Colombia entre 1870 y 1923. Se destaca igualmente el hecho que ante las dificultades para organizar el sistema bancario en Colombia fue necesario establecer con mayor severidad controles a los Bancos Privados, por ejemplo, la Misión Kemmerer en 1922, con la cual se planteó la necesidad de centralizar el sistema bancario del país, dando de esta manera origen al Banco de la República, con funciones de Banco Central y regulando los bancos privados por medio de la Superintendencia Bancaria. O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar o processo jurídico da banca privada, que se originou na Colômbia durante o período do Radicalismo Liberal (1863-1886). Depois, com a ascensão da Regeneração, em 1886, seu avanço sobre o país com um centralismo presidencialista, católico e autoritário, que afetaria os interesses de banqueiros, comerciantes e produtores que usufruíam dos benefícios da banca livre. Mais tarde, com a chegada do governo regenerativo, os banqueiros serão obrigados às leis impostas desde a centralização, a imposição de políticas monetárias e políticas de crédito. A metodologia utilizada, neste sentido, é de natureza qualitativa e busca realizar a análise das regulamentações, problemas e dificuldades que surgiram na Colômbia entre 1870 e 1923. Também destaca o fato de que, dadas as dificuldades na organização da banca sistema na Colômbia Foi necessário estabelecer controles mais rígidos sobre os Bancos Privados, por exemplo, a Missão Kemmerer em 1922, que levantou a necessidade de centralizar o sistema bancário do país, dando origem ao Banco de la República, com funções de Banco Central e regular os bancos privados por meio da Superintendência Bancária.
